Dancing Archetypes
Feel the Freedom
Mystery of Archetypes
Joy of Connection
This workshop invites participants on a journey of self-discovery through improvised dance, inspired by the rich tapestry of archetypes. Each session will explore specific archetypes, providing a unique lens through which to connect with personal experience, unlock creative movement, and foster deeper self-understanding.
Workshop Structure & Key Activities
(Per Dancing Archetypes Session)
Opening Circle & Introduction: Each gathering will begin with an opening circle, followed by a concise presentation on a chosen archetype. This introduction will draw from diverse sources such as myths, fairy tales, or evocative artworks to illuminate the archetype's essence.
Archetypal Movement Improvisation: Building on this internal connection, participants will engage in guided dance improvisation, allowing the energy and qualities of the archetype to inform and shape their movement.
Embodied Resonance: Participants will be guided to tap into their immediate internal responses to the archetype, observing what spontaneously arises within them – be it imagination, physical sensations, or emotional sentiments.
Reflection & Sharing: A dedicated time for sharing impressions, insights, and feelings that emerged during the improvisational dance, fostering a sense of community and collective learning.
Integration & Application: Concluding the session, participants will explore how the newfound awareness and experiences gained through embodying the archetype can be integrated and applied to their daily lives.
The workshop may delve into archetypes offering a diverse range of themes for embodied exploration:
The Fool
The Shadow
The Inner Child
Eros
The Inner Animal
Benefits:
Participants will develop a more nuanced relationship with their inner landscape, expand their movement vocabulary, cultivate expressive freedom, and gain practical tools for self-reflection and personal growth.
